FIGHTING SCOT STATUE PROJECT

Many of you have been inquiring about the progress of the Fighting Scot statue project....and rightly so. Begun in the spring of 2001, there have been a series of developments regarding the scope of the project. However, rest assured that the Fighting Scot statue will be installed on the Edinboro campus.
We began selling bricks and pavers as a way to introduce this project to alumni, students, employees and friends of Edinboro University. Soon after, prints of the proposed statue were made available. The latest development for funding includes utilizing a bond to enable the expansion of the University Center. The Alumni Association would pay its share of the bond at no additional cost to the University Center project. Additionally, the two projects can be incorporated from an aesthetic standpoint and, possibly, at some reduced costs. This is a big project that will become a symbol for many generations to come, and the Alumni Association Board is committed to seeing this project through to completion. It may take a little longer than originally expected, but you will see your bricks and pavers surrounding the larger-than-life Fighting Scot. You will also be notified when the project is completed and ready to be dedicated. Thank you all for your support and patience. |
