The mission of the Center for Career Services is to assist students and alumni in the areas of career development, planning and job searching through the provision of assessment, counseling, information, and resources.
Confidentiality:
All services provided by the Center are strictly confidential. Information shared by students in counseling or generated through testing is not disclosed outside the Center without the student's written permission. Professional ethics statements by organizations such as the American Counseling Association and the National Career Development Association guide the practice of the Center. Students are permitted to review their own credential files.
Fees:
There is NO CHARGE to students or alumni for any services offered through the Center for Career Services with the exception of a nominal fee charged to students who elect to use the credentials service.
Arranging for Services:
If you are interested in any of the individualized services provided by the Center for Career Services, such as counseling, assessment, resume consultation, etc., you should schedule an appointment in advance by telephoning (814) 732-2781. Please be certain to arrive on time for your appointment. Should you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible out of respect to the staff and other students who could use the appointment time.
If you are interested in utilizing the various resources available in the Center, such as the Vocational Biographies, internship resources, or resume packets, you do not need an appointment. You can simply stop in during regular office hours to use resources within the Center or pick up resources to take with you.
