According to the performance indicators for the fifth ACRL standard for information literacy, an information literate individual:

1. Understands many of the ethical, legal and socio-economic issues surrounding information and information technology.
2. Follows laws, regulations, institutional policies, and etiquette related to the access and use of information resources.
3. Acknowledges the use of information sources in communicating the product or performance.

TOPIC	DESCRIPTION
Using Information Responsibly	An outline of some of the key concepts, issues, and concerns surrounding the use of information.
Anti-Plagiarism Handbook	Developed and maintained by Dr. Wendy Austin (EUP English Dept. Faculty), this site provides quick, up-to-date advice and pertinent information on how to and why you should cite sources.
Citation Guides	A list of some of the more commonly used citation and style guides available in the library.
Fair Use/Copyright	A comic book that provides an excellent (and clever!)  introduction to the notions of copyright and fair use.  HTML, Flash Animation, and PDF versions are available.
