Kids Academy at Porreco

Now in its thirteenth year, the Kids Academy at Porreco is an exciting opportunity for children to participate in a wide array of unique learning experiences at Edinboro University in Erie - The Porreco Center.  Classes this year include: Explorer 101, Art in Motion, Summer of Creativity, Rainforests, Ancient Egypt, Explorations in Space, Summer Olympics, Weaving, Junior Astronomers, Pioneer Days and more.

Children in grades one through six may register for full-day or half-day programs beginning at 8:30am and ending at 3:45pm.  Participants are escorted between classes and supervised during lunch.

Week I, July 21-25, 2008

Week II, July 28 - August 1, 2008

How to Register:

• You may register for KAP courses by mail, by fax (814) 833-2085, or in person at Edinboro University in Erie - The Porreco Center, 2951 West 38^th Street, Erie, PA 16506. Since courses will fill rapidly, you are encouraged to register early.
• All fees must accompany registrations, and children must be registered before attending class.
• All insurance information must accompany registrations. Edinboro University of Pennsylvania does not offer health care coverage or accident insurance. The parent or guardian must provide evidence of health care coverage.
• Therefore, parents are to submit a photocopy of their health care coverage card along with the registration form for their child.

 

Course Fees:

The fee for each full week, full-day program is $150 for the first child, and $130 for additional children from the same family in the same week.  The fee for each half-day (morning or afternoon) is $100 per week, $85 for additional children from the same family in the same week.

Cancellations/Refund Policy:

Courses with insufficient enrollment, as of one week prior to the starting date, will be canceled.  Registrants will be notified by telephone.  Your money will be refunded in full.

A full refund for cancellations of pre-registered students will be honored up to July 9, 2008.  Refunds will not be given after that date, and you will be responsible for the registration fee.

Notes:

Students remaining on campus during the lunch period should plan to bring their own lunch and drink.  Supervision will be provided.  Edinboro University of Pennsylvania will provide a snack throughout the day. 

Please call the Office of Extended Learning at (814) 836-1955 or 732-2544 or 1-800-526-0121 for information regarding late registration.  Late registrations will be accepted for courses that have minimum enrollment but have not yet reached the maximum number.

• Children will be escorted between classes and will be supervised at all times.
• All children will receive a KAP souvenir.
• This educational experience does not qualify as a child care expense for tax purposes.
• Edinboro University reserves the right to alter class topics if necessary.
