LTC Patrick Clark

            Lieutenant Colonel Patrick A. Clark was born in Stuttgart, Germany.  He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York in 1987 and was commissioned in Armor. 
            Lieutenant Colonel Clark began his career with the1st Armored Division inGermany, where he served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer,and Battalion Adjutant in 1-37 Armor.  While serving with 1-37 Armor, LTC Clark participated in a West-East German border surveillance mission just prior to the opening of the East German border in 1989 and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. 
            Upon completion of the Armor Officer Advanced Course in 1992, LTC Clark returned to Vilseck, Germany, where he served as the Battalion Logistics Officer, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, A Company Commander, and Headquarters Company Commander of 2-37 Armor (later redesignated as 2-63 Armor).  While serving with 2-37/2-63 Armor, LTC Clark deployed to Kuwait for Operation Intrinsic Action in 1993 and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for 6 months for Operation Able Sentry as part of a United Nations force monitoring the Serbian - Macedonian border in 1996.
            Following company command, LTC Clark returned to Fort Knox, where he served as an Observer / Controller Team Chief in the 4th Training Support Brigade, Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General-West of 1st Army, and as an Operations Research analyst in US Army Recruiting Command.
            Following a year of schooling at the Command and General Staff College, LTC Clark returned to the 1st Armored Division in Baumholder, Germany, where he served as the Executive Officer of 2-6 Infantry and the Operations Officer of 1-35 Armor.  While serving with 2-6 Infantry, he deployed to Kosovo for 6 months as a part of Operation Joint Guardian.  The Clark family then moved across Germany, where LTC Clark served as an Observer / Controller for 3 years at the Combat Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany in the heart of Bavaria.
            After 5 years in Germany the Clarks returned to Fort Knox, where LTC Clark commanded 3d Squadron, 16th Cavalry for 2 years.  LTC Clark assumed his duties as the Professor of Military Science at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in the summer of 2007.
            LTC Clark's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, and the United Nations Medal.
            LTC Clark is married to the former Elke Meister of Hof, Germany.  The Clarks have three daughters:  Katherine (12), Annika (9), and Jana (8).  The family is rounded out with two dogs, Sabot and Eddie, and Vince the cat.
            LTC Clark's hobbies include golf, motorcycling, reading, making a great cappuccino, and fitness.  He speaks German fluently and has spent 14 of his 21 years of active service stationed in Germany and other places overseas.
