Tips
It is important for you to attend all of your classes, even those at 8:00am.
If you are not satisfied with your advisor, ask your friends with the same major about their advisor. If you find an individual you think you would like, submit the form to change your advisor.
If you use an online e-mail service other than Webmail, be sure to have your Webmail messages automatically transferred to your main e-mail. Note: Faculty and Administrators use Webmail to communicate to students.
If you are only using an off campus computer to use S.C.O.T.S., you will need to know your ID number and PIN. You do not need to know your user name or password for the Edinboro homepage.
If you are using an on-campus computer, you will need to know your user name and your password to log on to the computer. To use S.C.O.T.S., you will need to know your ID number and PIN.
To help prevent identity theft, it is advisable to frequently change your pin number, and do not give this pin number to your friends or any other person.
If your password or PIN are not working, use the S.C.O.T.S. tools to reset your accounts.
Make an effort to get to know your advisor. He or she is the best source for academic information; your friend may not have reliable information.
Be aware of action dates for the last date to:
-Add a course
-Drop a course
-Withdraw from a course
-The last dates to withdraw from a course or courses and receive a refund
If you should decide to totally withdraw from your classes, please speak with the Enrollment Services Office in Hamilton Hall.
It would be a good idea to save your alternate PIN somewhere safe so you don't lose it. Try saving your alternate PIN in your cell phone.
It would be wise to do research on the professor to see if their style of teaching fits with your learning needs.
When scheduling classes, be aware of their location. It might be difficult to go from McComb to Doucette in 10 minutes. Also, make sure you are aware of the campus. You do not want to schedule a class in Meadville or Erie when you do not have transportation there.
