- Student Transitions
The Office of Student Transitions provides leadership and resources that assist students as they enter the University. We encourage student success within and outside of the classroom through a variety of programs and initiatives that include orientation programs, first year experience initiatives, programs and services to for transfer students, dual enrollment programs for high school students who are enrolled at the University, and working with the parents and family members of our students. We are continually collaborating to showcase the great things that happen at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania!
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - all students entering the University from high school and those who are pursuing
higher education for the first time are required to participate in orientation. As a result of participating in the program students participate in placement testing, meet with faculty to review academic expectations and opportunities, receive academic advising, interact with returning student leaders and other new students, participate in technology training, receive an Edinboro University identification card, and learn about the host of resources available to promote student success.
TRANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION - transfer students are encouraged to take advantage of the orientation program designed meet the unique and sometimes individual needs of the transfer student. We provide an opportunity for students to interact with faculty from their academic department, receive advisement, and complete any other University business during orientation. In addition, students may receive an ID card, meet with student services representatives, complete registration and learn of technology resources.
FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE - Edinboro is committed to providing first year students with the tools and resources to develop a solid foundation for their academic careers. The First-Year Experience initiative includes freshmen seminar courses designed to assist students with academic success while enrolled in a content based course, the University Common Hour that includes programs and activities to improve study skills, and academic department based and faculty directed advising.
REGIONAL CHOICE INITIATIVE - Edinboro University participates with the Northwest Tri-county Intermediate Unit and the regional school districts to provide access to university study for high school juniors and seniors.
PARENT AND FAMILY ORGANIZATION - The Parents and Families Organization was established to bridge the gap between the University and the families of our students. Everyone can play a vital role in the success of our university.
