Before you begin to install the University provided Sophos Anti-virus program, it is best to remove your existing anti-virus program(s) from your machine. The following general instructions will assist you in accomplishing this task:
- Click on the Start Menu
- Select Contol Panel or Settings then Control Panel
- Select Add/Remove Programs (It may take a little time to populate the programs list)
- Click on existing Anti-virus programs from the list
- Once you click on the program name the remove button will appear
- Click on remove and follow any additional instructions to remove the program
Program names you should be looking for to remove: Norton, McAfee, Trend-Micro, AVG, Live Update, Windows One Care, Nod32, Kaspersy, Panda to name a few.
