Step 3  Getting Logged on

When you attempt to log on to Edinboro University's Residence Hall or Wireless network, you will be prompted to enter your Student ID and password.  If this is your first time you will then be prompted to download and install the Cisco Clean Access Agent.

If you cannot remember your network password, you will need to go to a computer which already       has network access and go to www.edinboro.edu  keyword "scotstools" and reset it.  Computers are available on campus at the Technology Help Center in Ross Hall, the Library, or the Hamilton Lobby to access the scotstools page without having to log in to a computer first.

In the event a student does not know their PIN, there are card swipe stations located in Ross Hall and the Library which will allow a student to swipe their Student ID to reset their PIN or you can call the Technology Help Center at 814-732-2111 for assistance.

Once you have installed the Agent, you will again be prompted to Log In again using your Student ID and password.  Your system will be scanned to ensure the following:

           •     It meets the minimum supported Operating System requirements
           •     It has all the latest Windows Operating System updates
           •     It has the University-approved Sophos Anti-Virus package installed and is up-to-date

If your system meets these requirements, you will be given full access to the network.  If your system does not meet these requirements, you will be given temporary access along with instructions on what is needed to meet requirements.

If you are having problems Getting Connected please call or stop in to our Technology Help Center in the front lobby of Ross Hall.

If you are connecting to the Ethernet port in your room

All of Edinboro University's Residence Halls are equipped with one network port per person.  You will need to supply a CAT5 Ethernet cable.  Push one end of the Ethernet cable into your computer's Ethernet port until it clicks.  Locate the Ethernet jack next to the phone jack on the wall and insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet jack.

In all residence halls except Rose, the white jack is for telephone, the blue jack is the first data connection, and the yellow jack is the second data connection.  In Rose Hall, there are two blue jacks for data, the first blue jack on the left is the first data jack and the blue jack on the right is the second data jack.
