University-owned Cell Phones
University cell phones are assigned to personnel if it is deemed that improved access and communication with this individual would further the mission of the University. It is expected that the preponderance of the usage would be University-related.
Approval to obtain University cell phones must be authorized by the individual's cost center head.
Verizon Wireless has been awarded the contract as the State System's Cellular Provider. A usage plan within the University's Business Share Program will be selected based on the purpose of the phone assignment. Department budgets are charged for the cost of the plan. Supervisors will receive copies of the bills for review.
As the University pays the monthly charges, no special applications should be downloaded unless it facilitates the phone's purpose.
Cell phones assigned through the University are University property and should be returned upon obtaining a replacement or leaving the University.
