Voicemail Instructions
(Faculty and Staff - PBX System)
IMPORTANT NUMBERS:
Voicemail: 814-732-1100 (External)
1100 (Internal)
Used to access the voicemail system to check messages and other voicemail features.
Express Message: 814-732-1101 (External)
1101 (Internal)
Used to leave a message or to transfer someone directly into a mailbox without ringing the person's phone.
TO LOGON FROM YOUR OWN TELEPHONE SET:
1. Press an idle extension and press Message Key or dial (1100). The system will prompt
"Meridian Mail, Mailbox?"
2. Press #. The system will prompt "Password." (For the initial set up your password will be
1234). Enter the Password followed by #. You are now logged on.
TO LOGON FROM ANY TELEPHONE:
1. Dial the Meridian Mail Access Number (1100). "Meridian Mail, Mailbox?"
2. Enter your Mailbox number followed by #. "Password?"
3. Enter the Password followed by #. You are now logged in. (The first time you log into your
mailbox your password will be 1234).
TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD:
1. Once logged in, press 84. System prompts "Password change. Please enter your new
password followed by #."
2. Enter your new password followed by #. System prompts "Please enter your new password again followed by #."
3. Enter your new password followed by #. System prompts "To confirm the change please enter your old password followed by #." Your password has been changed."
RECORD GREETINGS:
1. Once logged in, press 82. System prompts "For your external greeting press 1; For your
internal greeting press 2; For your temporary greeting press 3."
2. Enter the appropriate number. System prompts "To review the greeting press 2. To record it
press 5. To exit press 4."
3. Press 5. Wait for the tone then speak. When you have finished speaking press #.
4. To review the greeting you have just recorded press 2. To delete the greeting press 76.
5. When you are satisfied with the greeting press 4, then hang up.
PERSONAL VERIFICATION:
1. Once logged in press 89, then press 5. Wait for the tone then speak your name.
2. After you have recorded your name press #. "The personal Verification is..."
3. When you are satisfied with the recording you may hang up.
PLAYING YOUR MESSAGES:
1. To play a message press 2
2. To go to the next message press 6
3. To go to the previous message press 4
4. To delete the message press 76
5. For more information about the message press 72
6. To reply to the message press 71
7. To forward the message press 73
TO CHANGE THE PERSONAL OPERATOR:
1. Once you have logged in press 80. "Mailbox Options"
2. To change your personal operator press 1.
3. Enter operator assistance number followed by #.
TO COMPOSE A MESSAGE:
1. Once logged in press 75. The system will prompt you to enter list mailboxes separated by
number sign.
2. Press an additional # sign when you are done with your list.
3. Press 5 to record message. After you record press # to stop recording.
4. Press 79 to send the message.
EXPRESS MESSAGE:
Lets you send a message without having to call the person.
1. Dial the Express Messaging access number 1101 (internal). "Express Messaging to
Mailbox?"
2. Enter the Mailbox Number of the person for whom you want to leave a message followed by
# or if you do not know the extension press 1 to dial by name. (Spell the last name first).
3. After the tone, leave your message. Hang up when finished.

1. Skip backward # Press for stop
