Tips and Tools for Verizon Wireless Cellular Phone Holders

On a monthly basis, users should update their roaming capabilities by dialing *228 from the cell phone and choosing option 2 after the introductory message.  Failure to program your phone correctly may cause the roam indicator to display inaccurately.  Call before you travel to ensure that you have the most updated network coverage.

Power your phone off at least once a day.  This is especially helpful for holders of LG phones.

Use the Backup Assistant to save a copy of your phone's address book to a secure web site.  If you phone is lost, stolen or damaged, Backup Assistant can restore your saved address book to a new phone - wirelessly!

Note for PDA users:  Backup Assistant can't be used on PDA devices; however, most Verizon Wireless PDA's come with Active Sync software which can be used to backup your information instead.
